The resolution was introduced on the floor by City of Oneida Supervisor Joseph Magliocca. The new distribution will take effect in 2024 after the state budget goes through in April. The OIN provides the money because the town of Sullivan hosts the Yellow Brick Road Casino in the village of Chittenango and Point Place Casino in the hamlet of Bridgeport. Kathy Hochul must put the money into the state budget to make it available. Madison County Public Information Officer Samantha Field said the resolution allows the county to redistribute the allocation of the $3.75 million host community benefit funds, which are not guaranteed every year. The Madison County Board of Supervisors recently voted on a resolution to redistribute the host community benefits that the county receives from the Oneida Indian Nation through New York state.
